Trading Guarantees of Origin: purchasing, selling, and strategic management for Scope 2 reporting.

Guarantees of Origin certify that the electricity consumed comes from renewable sources. They are the recognized tool for reporting Scope 2 emissions using a market-based methodology and their regulatory and commercial relevance in Italy has grown significantly in recent years. Choosing the right GOs, by source, country, and vintage, is no longer an administrative detail: it's a requirement that impacts access to incentives, financing, and the robustness of your ESG reporting.

What We Do

  • Trading Guarantees of Origin on European markets (AIB, GME)

  • Selection of GOs by source type, country and vintage

  • Integrating GOs into the Scope 2 reporting strategy (market-based methodology)

  • Verifica della qualità e tracciabilità dei certificati

  • Consulting on compliance with GHG Protocol and ESG requirements

Why is it relevant today?

Scope 2 emissions reporting has become a concrete requirement on multiple fronts simultaneously: the ESG disclosure requirements of the CSRD, the European taxonomy criteria for classifying sustainable activities, the conditions for accessing public incentives and funding, and the growing demands of customers and investors seeking verifiable data on their suppliers' energy sources. In this context, the quality of Guarantees of Origin is no longer negotiable.
